When you hear the same comment from a few people, it’s anecdotal. Hear it a few more times, and it could be a coincidence. But when the same theme keeps coming up dozens of times in a day — well then you have a trend that can’t be ignored.
That’s what it was like at the 19th Annual Multi-Unit Franchising Conference for our CEO, Taj Adhav, and director of business development Avery Donaudy. It was clear to them that franchisors and franchisees are looking for technological solutions to help attract and retain employees, improve the customer experience, and manage multiple locations.
For the past year, multi-unit and multi-brand franchisees have told us in one-on-one conversations that they need to increase operational efficiencies to be competitive. That message was amplified in Las Vegas when a thousand-plus franchise pros gathered at Caesars Palace for MUFC 2019.
The conference offered some great sessions on expansion, marketing, and team building. Two speakers, in particular, caught our attention:
- Alex Canter from Ordermark — Alex was on a panel discussing take-out and delivery options to maximize sales. Ordermark has an innovative solution to simplify the process for restaurants using multiple online ordering services. Follow Alex on Twitter
- Sam Caucci from 1Huddle — Sam gave a talk on using technology to better onboard, upskill, and fire up your workforce. 1Huddle creates mobile games to help build sales and service teams. Follow Sam on Twitter
MUFC rocked, and we’ll be back in 2020!
We’re at Retail Live in Orlando next week. Usually, that would mean a short commute for us since we’re based in Orlando. But two of our team members are at a meeting in North Carolina the day before, so they’ll start the day with a 500-mile commute courtesy of US Airways.
We’ll have coffee waiting for them.
Gotta love that startup life!
