This week, we welcomed Alan Panezic as our new Chief Product Officer, and our co-founder Dave Schrader is stepping into a new role as Chief Innovation Officer. Together, Alan and Dave will lead the next chapter of Leasecake’s product evolution, driving forward our vision to make lease and location management simpler, smarter, and powered by AI.

Why this change matters

Alan brings more than 20 years of product leadership experience at companies like BlackBerry (Research In Motion), Mocana, Telenav, ISARA, and Introhive. He’s helped scale SaaS platforms that balance enterprise-grade capability with usability—a perfect match for Leasecake’s mission.
“Real estate is one of the biggest sources of both opportunity and risk for growing companies,” said Alan. “My goal is to keep our product strategy tightly connected to customer needs, empowering them through intuitive, AI-driven tools that reduce risk and unlock growth.”
Innovation has always been part of our DNA
If you’ve been following Leasecake for a while, you know innovation is in our roots. That’s why it makes perfect sense for Dave Schrader, our co-founder, to take on a new role as Chief Innovation Officer. Dave will focus on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI and automation—advancing our platform through initiatives like Leasecake LIFT™ (Lease Intelligence and Favorability Tracker) and our Cakebot AI engine.
